These documents, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act from the time when Elliott was listed, seem to suggest that the council always intended to re-develop the school site.
On page 12 the council leader at the time, Edward Lister, disputes Elliott’s significance as a historic building and argues that by listing the site it will be harder to redevelop it in the future.
